Job Summary:

Stryker Demolition & Environmental Services, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Asbestos Abatement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our field team, you will be responsible for performing asbestos removal work and other hazardous material removal tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform asbestos removal work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Conduct various hazardous material removal tasks, including demolition and environmental services
  • Work collaboratively with our field supervisor and project team to ensure successful project completion
  • Participate in our company's safety culture and adhere to all safety regulations
  • Perform manual labor tasks, including lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects
  • Work in a variety of environments, including hot and cold temperatures

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience working on asbestos projects
  • Successful completion of an EPA AHERA approved 32-hour Asbestos Worker training course and any continuing refresher classes as needed
  • Ability to work in personal protective equipment throughout a work shift in all weather conditions
  • Experience working with a wide variety of tools for demolition
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs
  • Ability to work productively in personal protective equipment throughout work shift in all weather conditions
  • Ability to climb, kneel, stoop, bend, lift, push/pull, and/or reach frequently
  • Ability to work with hazardous materials
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to obtain medical clearance to wear a respirator for asbestos work
  • Ability to work overtime on an extended day or weekend shift as may be required

Preferred Experience:

  • Asbestos abatement worker license in the following states: TN, PA, NY, NJ, WI, LA, IL, KY, MD, SC, VA, WV, OH
  • Experience on large industrial demolition projects
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour training a plus
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training a plus

Employment Type: Full-time hourly position

Travel: This is a field-based position with up to 100% travel
