Our team is dedicated to exploring innovative CPU architectures for the next generation of Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, and Mac.Role Responsibilities:- Address intricate performance issues related to branch prediction, data/code prefetching, cache hierarchy, and other CPU domains.
- Investigate the integration of cutting-edge AI/ML methodologies to enhance CPU performance.
- Develop tailored data analysis tools to identify performance bottlenecks, enabling a focused approach to problem-solving.
- Engage in ongoing research across various CPU disciplines, offering insights to the Apple CPU design team regarding future enhancements.
- Share findings and analyses with CPU architecture and design teams.
- Influence the strategic direction for upcoming Apple CPUs utilized in iPhone, iPad, and Mac systems.
Proficient understanding of CPU architecture and micro-architecture principles.
Experience in specific CPU focus areas (e.g., branch prediction, pre-fetching) is advantageous.
Familiarity with machine learning literature, model selection, tuning, and interpretability.
Capability to pinpoint performance bottlenecks in prevalent industry workloads, devise solutions, and implement them in performance simulation.
Skilled in C/C++ and Python.Education & Experience:
B.S. degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience. A PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a focus on Computer Architecture or Machine Learning is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base salary is one component of our comprehensive compensation package, determined within a specified range.
