Job Title: CPU Performance Projections Engineer

At Qualcomm, we are seeking a highly skilled CPU Performance Projections Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our CPU Engineering Group, you will be responsible for modeling and projecting the CPU performance for various Qualcomm SoCs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup the CPU/SoC configuration in the performance simulator and run simulations
  • Characterize various industry standard benchmarks using silicon and/or the performance simulator
  • Build an analytical performance prediction models for various benchmarks
  • Correlate performance projections vs silicon measurements and refine the projection methodology accordingly
  • Organize work and document status, results in Jiras
  • Present the projection data at various forums in a clear and concise manner
Requirements:
  • Strong grasp of computer architecture and OS fundamentals
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of performance modeling or related work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering / science with 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following — CPU or SoC performance modeling, performance projections, analytical modeling, performance correlation / validation, workload characterization, performance measurements in silicon
  • Experience with industry standard CPU benchmarks such as SPEC CPU, GeekBench, Speedometer, etc.
  • Strong scripting skills -- Bash / Perl / Python
  • Good understanding of statistical methods
