Job Title: Staff Accountant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team at AMPORTS Inc. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting our Finance managers and Controller with managing accounting functions, including balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, accounts payable, treasury, and consolidation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage the company's fixed asset register, ensuring accurate tracking, categorization, and valuation of assets.
  • Perform and consolidate detailed monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including investigating and resolving any discrepancies identified.
  • Oversee the accounting and reporting for all leases, including operating and finance leases.
  • Prepare and manage monthly consolidation schedules.
  • Monitor and direct incoming invoices for the corporate office.
  • Issue and process weekly payments to vendors.
  • Keep vendor records current with W-9s and validating payment instructions.
  • Assist with the preparation of 1099s.
  • Maintain daily reconciliation of cash activity in the bank versus recorded in the general ledger.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and 2-year related experience and/or training.
  • Experience in navigating Excel and performing calculations.
  • Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • CPA license (Certified Public Accountant) is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
