The Banquet Server plays a vital role in delivering exceptional service during events and gatherings. This position requires a commitment to a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the operational needs of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure availability to work varied shifts as needed by the hotel's business operations.
- Maintain high standards of food and beverage safety and quality in line with hotel and franchise guidelines.
- Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements.
- Process and deliver guests' beverage orders, employing suggestive selling techniques when necessary.
- Serve food courses and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with departmental standards and event specifications.
- Anticipate and respond to guests' needs promptly, ensuring a positive experience for all.
- Possess knowledge of hotel services and local attractions to accurately assist guests with inquiries.
- Address guest complaints effectively to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned service areas.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Previous experience in banquet service or hospitality is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, and colleagues.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college education is a plus.
- Must meet the minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Completion of ServSafe and/or food safety training is required.
- Alcohol awareness training (such as TIPS) is beneficial.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are advantageous.
- Familiarity with local attractions suitable for guests is preferred.
