About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer to join our team at Sweet Briar College. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to lead our financial management efforts and contribute to the success of our institution.

Job Description

  • Serve as the chief financial officer of the college, exercising primary stewardship of college resources and ensuring that all financial processes and procedures are fiscally sound and compliant with regulations.
  • Provide vision and innovative leadership for business office activities, accounting, payroll, purchasing, equipment and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with the president's cabinet to develop and implement strategic financial plans and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the assistant vice president of finance and controller, director of human resources, and director of financial aid.
  • Oversee the development of the college's budget, ensuring fiscal integrity and compliance with regulations.
  • Manage cash flow, risk management programs, and insurance programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or business, with a chartered accountant, MBA, CFA, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum five years' related experience in finance administration and leadership, or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of the position.

Salary

$110,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience.
