Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care team at Northwestern Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our physicians and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician, including taking medical histories, vital signs, and preparing patients for office procedures.
  • Assist with laboratory and other testing, as well as perform point-of-care testing.
  • Administer injections and medications as directed by the physician.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documentation of medical histories, test results, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in shared governance, committee work, and practice/department projects to improve patient care and outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Two or more years of recent experience working as a Medical Assistant in a physician office setting or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
  • American Heart Association accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
  • Completion of phlebotomy class or equivalent experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to type proficiently and accurately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in medical assisting.
  • Second language proficiency a plus.
