The Small Business Lending division is seeking a Liquidation Officer to oversee critical functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with collection and servicing teams on newly delinquent loans.
  • Implement the transfer of delinquent loans to liquidation as directed by management.
  • Assess collateral and loan documentation for compliance with SBA standards.
  • Develop and execute effective collection strategies to minimize losses.
  • Evaluate borrowers' financial situations to recommend actions such as loan modifications or settlements.
  • Maintain communication with SBA personnel as necessary.
  • Prepare bi-weekly updates for senior management.
  • Conduct quarterly credit assessments for management review.
  • Engage with delinquent borrowers to negotiate optimal workout solutions.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper loan servicing and SBA compliance.
  • Review and interpret SBA loan documentation and appraisals.
  • Manage external vendors and professionals to maximize recovery efforts.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings as required.
  • Partner with outside legal counsel for litigation when necessary.
  • Complete SBA semi-annual status reports accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all loans have SBA-approved litigation plans and budgets.
  • Promote additional Newtek services to foster customer partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with Bankruptcy Code Chapters (7, 11, 13) and collaboration with attorneys.
  • Ability to analyze diverse data and make informed recommendations.
  • Knowledge of foreclosure processes and SBA SOP related to liquidation.
  • Experience in commercial loan workouts and collections is essential.
  • Preferred qualifications include SBA workout experience and formal bank credit training.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or Finance is advantageous.

Compensation: Salary range between $80,000 and $130,000.
