Asset Protection Specialist

The Paper Store is committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences and protecting our assets. As an Asset Protection Specialist, you will play a critical role in preventing loss of inventory and ensuring a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a brand ambassador for The Paper Store, promoting a positive image and excellent customer service.
  • Provide a warm welcome to all guests entering and exiting the store, setting the tone for a pleasant shopping experience.
  • Conduct regular patrols and stand at assigned locations to deter potential security threats and maintain a visible presence.
  • Monitor and investigate suspicious activities, working closely with store management to resolve issues promptly.
  • Assess and respond to emergency situations, prioritizing the safety of customers and employees.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to reduce and control loss of inventory through audits, training, and education.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor when handling sensitive situations, including aggressive behavior from suspects.
  • Report incidents and suspicious activity to store leadership, ensuring a swift and effective response.
  • Participate in the training of new associates, promoting awareness and understanding of loss prevention principles.
  • Prepare detailed reports on theft incidents and merchandise recoveries, providing valuable insights for improvement.
  • Support store management in maintaining a safe work environment, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Prior experience in loss prevention or security is an asset.
    • Must meet all local licensing requirements.
    • Demonstrate excellent customer engagement skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management, making informed decisions in fast-paced situations.
    • General knowledge of retail security camera equipment and ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, based on business needs.
    • Ability to stand and walk the sales floor for extended periods.
