Job Summary

Akumin is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for ensuring patient safety and producing high-quality diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Safety: Ensure patient safety by pre-screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections, and using aseptic injection techniques.
  • Image Production: Produce high-quality diagnostic images using CT scanners and other equipment.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with customers, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Training: Train new technologists and patient coordinators on CT scanner operation and patient care procedures.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot CT scanners, coaches, and peripheral equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience; associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Certification: Registered Computed Tomography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) in Computed Tomography is also acceptable.
  • Licensure: State license to practice as a CT Technologist.
  • Skills: Strong customer service skills, organizational and multi-tasking skills, and basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
Physical Requirements

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during patient transport and may be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

  • Physical Demands: Sit, stand, walk, repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs, see, speak, and hear to communicate with patients.
  • Occasional Demands: Stoop, kneel, or crawl, climb and balance, carry and lift patients for transfer or examination.
