Job Title: Prototype Tech

Regal Boats is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Prototype Tech. As a Prototype Tech, you will be responsible for developing and constructing prototype boats, introducing them into production, and troubleshooting technical issues related to production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and build jigs, fixtures, patterns, and templates, and ensure all information is provided to the design/documentation team.
  • Build out prototype assemblies, mockups, and boats based on design and engineering drawings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment under time constraints.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Must be flexible to change in daily scheduled hours.
  • Ability to take direction from various supervisors and managers and adapt to change quickly and often.
  • Keeping the work area clean and organized.
  • Must have basic computer skills (i.e., email and Google Sheets).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiently use small hand tools, both electrical and air-powered, table saw, band saw, grinders, and router.
  • Composite experience.
  • Ability to drive a forklift is preferred.
Work Environment:

Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature, reaching over 100 degrees Fahrenheit at times.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods. The employee is frequently required to climb into and out of the boats using stairs. The employee must frequently be able to lift 50 pounds, work 10-hour days with most of the time being on their feet, and work overtime, whether planned or unplanned.
