Job Title: Water Resources Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our Transportation Business Group in Maryland or Virginia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing project engineering and task management, conducting complex hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, and leading the production of design calculations and technical reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide project engineering and task management for water resources projects
  • Conduct complex hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, including stormwater collection systems modeling and design
  • Collect, assimilate, and present data in reports, memos, and public forums
  • Lead the production of design calculations and technical reports
  • Lead the preparation of engineering plans and specifications for design of detention facilities, storm drains, flood control facilities, and other hydraulic structures
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Highway drainage experience
  • Experience with water resources design elements related to stormwater management, culverts, storm systems, and E&S controls
  • Experience with MS Office, Microstation, HEC-RAS, FHWA hydraulic programs, and other software used for drainage design for VDOT or MDOT projects
  • Familiarity with regional standards and permitting process, including VDOT, MDOT, VPDES, and MDE
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GEO-RAS, storm drain system analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
