The Laboratory Support Technician (LST III) plays a vital role in the provider care team, providing support for reports, data, and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position requires accurate, timely, and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms, with a focus on excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities- Acquire and process laboratory specimens using safe, accurate, and effective methodologies, while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies.
- Transport and refer laboratory specimens and reports as required.
- Perform limited laboratory testing and assist technologists in all appropriate test methods.
- Meet facility competencies, including written examination, management observation, and checklist completion.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience.
- Previous Mercy LST II designation or equivalent experience.
- No active disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans.
- Successful completion of the probationary period.
