DESCRIPTION:

A reputable Public Accounting firm presents an exciting opportunity for a Lead Financial Accountant with a robust background in both taxation and accounting/audit within a public accounting framework.

This role offers the flexibility to work from various locations, with hybrid work options available, although fully remote positions are not provided.


Key Responsibilities for Lead Financial Accountant:
Conducts audit, review, or compilation procedures, including the examination of client-prepared trial balances, financial statements, and workpapers.
Prepares, reviews, and verifies financial statements, audit reports, and additional documentation.
Demonstrates a solid understanding of accrual basis reporting.
Prepares Federal and State individual and business tax returns, including necessary workpapers.
Engages in tax planning and research activities.
Maintains awareness of tax regulations for effective tax planning and research; stays updated on accounting standards and current changes.

Fosters direct client communication and develops strong working relationships with clients.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications for Lead Financial Accountant:
3 – 9 years of recent experience in public accounting.
Active CPA designation preferred; CPA candidate (150 credits to sit for the CPA exam) is required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with eligibility to sit for the CPA exam.
Exceptional writing and communication skills.
Strong analytical, technical, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
Excellent presentation skills.
Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple engagements and delegate tasks effectively.
Willingness to travel locally as required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience with tax research databases and tax software such as Thomson Reuters or comparable programs.
Salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $90,000 to $130,000.
