Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately and timely produce engineering design elements consistent with project specifications
  • Accurately and timely produce design elements and troubleshoot flaws in accordance with the project hours, scope, and parameters
  • Produce engineering construction documents appropriate for permitting based on project specifics
  • Provide complete management of project timelines and related design activity communication between the design team and the client accurately and timely
  • Provide project coordination with in-house and outside sources
  • Provide timely consultation on projects to manage schedules, deadlines, site surveys, punch lists, building codes, and standards consistent with company quality standards
  • Accurately and consistently execute QA/QC process
  • Produce accurate and complete engineering project specifications within project parameters
  • Provide timely billing of projects to the accounting department
  • Select appropriate equipment for project type
  • Produce accurate and complete load calculations and engineering project specifications within project parameters
  • Actively participate in post-design activities and represent the company in client meetings, through construction completion
  • Ensure the quality of engineering design is consistent with established quality standards
  • Actively mentor junior engineers and designers
  • Assist in the preparation of other documents germane to a project with enthusiasm and professionalism
  • Follow established work rules, policies, and procedures
  • Actively engage with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies, and reduce costs
  • Cooperatively take on other duties, roles, or responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of building codes and standards
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering standards and other trades
  • Strong project management skills
  • 4-year degree in engineering required, EIT and/or PE preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in mechanical engineering
  • Demonstrable understanding of the construction process and interpretation of construction drawings
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Excellent communication skills
