This role is integral to the financial health of our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will oversee the accounting functions within the plant, ensuring that financial reports are accurate and timely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the plant's accounting team to guarantee precise and prompt delivery of financial management reports, including internal and external monthly financial statements, annual budgets, and forecasts.
- Oversee the monthly closing process and ensure that reconciliations for balance sheet accounts are conducted accurately.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, including overhead and cost of sales, comparing them against budgets, forecasts, and historical data.
- Prepare regular reports that contrast standard costs with actual production expenses, identifying factors that influence pricing and profitability.
- Coordinate and engage in physical inventory counts, ensuring accurate reporting of inventory levels.
- Ensure proper accounting for plant fixed assets and repairs, including the preparation or review of capital expenditure requests.
- Guarantee that production processes affecting financial data are executed with precision.
- Establish and uphold systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, assets, processes, and data, thereby enhancing the company's value.
- Proactively identify trends in manufacturing costs that could impact business and financial outcomes, collaborating closely with Plant Managers to deliver timely financial analyses.
- Adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and safety protocols.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial management.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams.
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Excel.
- Extensive background in manufacturing and cost accounting.
- Strong leadership abilities along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
