Description:

Circle of Care Pediatric Home Health is seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Administer and complete evaluations for pediatric patients (birth to age 20) in a home health setting, following departmental standards and procedures.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records and reports on pediatric patients' progress and care plans.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment programs to enhance patients' functional abilities.
  • Instruct pediatric patients in adapted techniques and the use of assistive equipment for tasks such as feeding, dressing, home management, and other self-care skills within the home environment.
  • Provide preventive therapy to help maintain functional skills, educating patients on energy conservation, joint protection, safety techniques, and proper transfer methods, while also instructing families in safe personal care techniques.
  • Develop home programs tailored to each child's needs and educate families or caregivers on how to implement these programs effectively.
  • Participate in patient support groups and collaborate with other team members to ensure comprehensive care for pediatric clients.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
  • Master's degree in occupational therapy required.
  • Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
  • Licensure or certification by the state of Texas as an OTR.

Physical Requirements:

  • Will engage in movements that involve lifting equipment used in patient care, etc.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases and human waste products.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at times.
