Role Objective

The Construction Superintendent at KHI Medical plays a crucial role in ensuring project success. As the onsite representative of the company, the superintendent is responsible for coordinating employees, subcontractors, material deliveries, and overall workflow to maintain project timelines. Effective leadership and communication with the project team and clients are essential.


Essential Qualities of a KHI Medical Superintendent

Superintendents must be experts in construction practices and have extensive experience managing all elements of a construction project. Key responsibilities include:

  • Expertise in best construction practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of relevant building codes.
  • Communicating plans and actions with team members and clients prior to execution.
  • Managing changes in accordance with KHI Medical and healthcare standards.
  • Providing regular updates to the project manager through various communication channels.
  • Proficiency in online construction management tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project.
  • Experience with Bluebeam software.

Qualifications
Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a construction superintendent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the construction trade.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of framing, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.
  • Ability to interpret plans, follow instructions, and adhere to the defined scope of work.
  • Capability to evaluate changes in the scope of work and initiate change orders through the project manager.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary to achieve project milestones.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
