Service Technician for Advanced Instruments

RemX | The Workforce Experts is seeking a skilled Service Technician specializing in Advanced Instruments. We represent a leading manufacturer and distributor of instrumentation and controls utilized in municipal water and industrial sectors.

Position Overview:

This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth, a balanced work-life environment, and competitive benefits. The position is compensated at $26 per hour, with additional overtime opportunities available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostics and repairs on sampling and flow monitoring equipment to prevent issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance and operational assessments on various equipment.
  • Respond to urgent service requests during and outside regular business hours.
  • Program and troubleshoot microprocessor and PLC-based control systems.
  • Address technical issues raised by customers effectively.
  • Initiate and resolve startup and troubleshooting processes for equipment.
  • Engage directly with clients at their facilities.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Travel as necessary to support colleagues in the field.
  • Complete and submit daily reports and maintenance logs to clients and administrative staff.
  • Prepare service quotes for annual, semi-annual, and one-time repairs.
  • Deliver on-site training to customers as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in instrumentation with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and service software.
  • Must reside in the Western Pennsylvania or Cleveland, Ohio area.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Frequent local travel is a requirement of this position.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous experience in a service-oriented role is preferred.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
  • Refrigeration experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Valid, unexpired driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
