Advanced Materials Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Materials Research Scientist to join our team at AIJ Search. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for developing and advancing ceramic processing technologies critical to our client's aerospace products.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Expertise: Demonstrate technical breadth and depth in materials science, chemistry, and mechanics to solve challenging technical problems that impact program direction.
- Breakthrough Innovation: Apply holistic, critical thinking that yields breakthrough innovation.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise on various projects and programs, supporting knowledge transfer and troubleshooting for development teams.
- Collaboration: Support cross-functional technical teams of 2-10 experts in various domains and geographical locations to deliver differentiated technology solutions.
- Requirements Development: Develop requirements for and test methods to validate technologies/prototypes/products.
- Project Management: Support the Program Manager in executing a yearly budget; ensure project deliverables are met.
- Customer Relationships: Support customer relationships in partnership with the Technical Sales Manager and Business Development Leader/Fellow.
- Educational Background: MS or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Strong fundamental knowledge in physics, chemistry, thermodynamics, and kinetics.
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on research experience, including scale-up and manufacturing requirements, including developing ceramic matrix composites, coatings, and slurry formulations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ceramic processing techniques and materials analysis (ceramics, composites, and metals) and high-level competency with high-temperature processing operations.
- Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to confidently and effectively communicate ideas with audiences at varying levels of technical depth.
- Global Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional team environment.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems.
- Global Experience: Experience working in global teams across time zones.
