Role Overview
As a Dental Care Specialist with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Corrections, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch dental care to our inmate population. With a passion for delivering quality services, you will collaborate with experienced auxiliary staff and receive exceptional managerial support.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily work of the institution's dental staff
- Be responsible for all aspects of the clinical dental services provided to the inmate population
- Provide basic dental care and perform all dental treatment
- Assist specialists in the performance of treatment and related duties while on-site
- Consult with and refer inmate patients to physicians, oral surgeons, and other health care professionals
Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Eligible for full retirement benefits as early as age 55. Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved school of dentistry
- Possession of a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA
- Ability to perform essential job functions
