Postdoctoral Research Position

The Center for Insurance Policy and Research (CIPR) at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is seeking highly qualified postdoctoral researchers to contribute to its mission of advancing knowledge in risk management and insurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct applied research to inform NAIC members and staff on key issues of concern, leveraging available NAIC data where applicable.
  • Engage in basic research to expand the state of knowledge in risk management and insurance-related issues.
  • Collaborate with experienced researchers and other NAIC staff to achieve research goals.
  • Present research results in both written and oral form, with a focus on clear and concise communication.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in economics, finance, risk management and insurance, or a related field, received within the last two years.
  • Strong skills in data analysis and statistical modeling, with experience in advanced data science techniques a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning expertise.
  • Advanced data science skills, including SQL and scripting languages like R, Python, and/or VBA.
  • Geographic information systems (GIS) experience.
