Psychiatric Social Worker I/Stipend

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Social Worker I/Stipend to join our team at the County of Los Angeles, CA. As a key member of our mental health services team, you will provide professional social work services to clients in need of mental health services.
Key Responsibilities- Interview individuals, families, and significant others to obtain a comprehensive understanding of their mental health history and needs.
- Assess client's functioning in their environmental setting and develop a tentative Client Care Coordination Plan (CCCP) to resolve or cope with mental or emotional problems.
- Provide psychotherapy to individuals, groups, families, and significant others, and conduct therapy programs under the guidance of supervisory staff.
- Secure resources for clients, families, and significant others to achieve treatment goals, and provide case management services to support their needs.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team conferences to discuss and evaluate the nature of the client's problem, and develop a CCCP.
- Participate in research to increase knowledge of mental health problems and improve therapeutic treatment methods.
- A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work, including supervised field work experience in psychiatric social work.
- An approved LAC DMH Stipend awardee.
- A valid and active Associate Clinical Social Worker registration issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Behavioral Sciences.
- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
- Paid experience involving psychiatric social work.
This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of customer interaction. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
