About the Role

This is a vital position responsible for ensuring the safety of all pool patrons by guarding the pool, enforcing pool rules, and implementing emergency protocols as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Emergency Response: Recognize emergencies or potential incidents and address them immediately, performing assists or rescues as needed.
  • Safety Precautions: Prevent emergencies by scanning the pool in a continuous and consistent manner and ensure a clean and safe pool environment at all times.
  • Communication: Maintain a clear and consistent line of communication with supervisors, participate in safety drills, and attend required trainings.
Requirements
  • Certifications: YMCA Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and O2 certification.
  • Physical Demands: Physically and verbally able to interact with members and staff, must be able to scan the pool visually, sit or stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $18.50 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus benefits such as health insurance, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
