Lead Endoscopy Technician

As a Lead Endoscopy Technician at Hackensack Meridian Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our endoscopy department. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare endoscopy rooms with the necessary supplies and equipment for each procedure, referring to the physician's preference list as needed. You will also assist endoscopists with advanced GI procedures, precepting and teaching other endoscopy technicians as required. Additionally, you will provide necessary support to other endo technicians throughout procedures, report progress, and escalate potential barriers to leadership. You will maintain advanced GI endoscopy equipment, keep carts and accessories neat and clean, and transfer patients to and from their unit or other departments as needed. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in this role.
Responsibilities:
Prepares endoscopy rooms with appropriate supplies and equipment for each procedure
Assists endoscopists with advanced GI procedures
Precepts and teaches other endoscopy technicians
Provides necessary support to other endo technicians
Reports progress and escalates potential barriers to leadership
Maintains advanced GI endoscopy equipment
Transfers patients to and from their unit or other departments
Maintains inventory and orders supplies
Sends scopes out for repair as needed
Checks linen carts daily to ensure they are properly stocked
Cleans and remakes stretchers after use
Assists with patient emergencies
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years related clinical experience with recent experience in cleaning scopes
Strong knowledge of GI procedures, anatomy, and physiology
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure
Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms
AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification
Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (preferred)
