About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Product Quality Engineer to join our team at Micron Technology. As a key member of our Global Quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our High Bandwidth Memory products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct new product qualifications and define qualification requirements for High Bandwidth Memory products.
  • Comprehend failures and failure rates within the scope of the qualification and perform risk assessments at all decision points.
  • Review qualification data and sign off on qualification requirements being met, and issue internal product release notifications.
  • Develop product reliability methodologies, monitors, metrics, and specifications, and collaborate with technology development and product engineering teams to establish reliability targets and standards.
  • Comprehend new wafer fab and packaging technologies to identify and mitigate product reliability issues, and develop and improve product reliability tests to assess new DRAM failure mechanisms.
  • Coordinate and drive important specification improvements for existing products, establish and implement quality requirements, and assess deviations for product quality and reliability risks.
  • Define evaluation necessary to mitigate risks, review and support process excursion analysis, communicate violations to defined release/acceptance criteria, and communicate issues and corrective actions across all Micron products.
  • Provide internal technical support for customer support teams, assist RMA teams with detailed analysis of returned material, investigate manufacturing history and identify issues related to customer failure signature, and perform additional data collection as needed and per customer request.
  • Develop Reliability Process Monitor (RPM) plans and assist with necessary corrective actions at the manufacturing level, and comprehend field failure rates relative to internal failure rates.

Requirements:

  • M.S. or equivalent experience in EE or a related field of study.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor wafer fabrication, advanced packaging, and semiconductor device physics.
  • 3 years or engineering experience in one of the following areas: Product Engineering, Product Quality and Reliability, Process Integration, or Product Yield Enhancement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Perl, C++, Python, HTML, CGI, or Java.
