Licensed Speech Language Pathologist

The Licensed Speech Language Pathologist will deliver essential speech therapy services to patients as directed by their healthcare provider. This role is pivotal in assessing, planning, and executing rehabilitation strategies for individuals experiencing challenges with speech, language, or swallowing.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Planning: Evaluate and establish rehabilitation services tailored for speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Diagnostic Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of speech and language capabilities through standardized testing.
- Goal Setting: Define objectives and predict recovery outcomes for patients.
- Progress Monitoring: Document and communicate patient progress and any changes in their condition to the healthcare provider.
- Family Instruction: Educate family members and healthcare team members on techniques to support the patient in enhancing communication skills.
- Ongoing Evaluation: Regularly reassess patient progress and modify rehabilitation plans as necessary.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit periodic reports to the healthcare provider and relevant third-party payers regarding the care provided.
- Referral Assistance: Facilitate appropriate referrals to external audiology and speech clinics or community services as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive clinical records and ensure timely submission of all required paperwork in accordance with agency policies.
- Community Liaison: Act as a liaison with other community organizations and follow up as necessary.
- Professional Development: Engage in in-service training, case discussions, and staff meetings as required to maintain professional competency.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
The role requires travel to various residential settings based on the assigned caseload. The Speech Language Pathologist will be expected to drive regularly for patient visits and meetings, adapting to diverse residential environments.
