About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Recruiter and Training Specialist to join our team at LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired. As a key member of our Talent Acquisition team, you will be responsible for sourcing and attracting top talent, as well as developing and delivering training programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Recruitment Management:
  • Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates.
  • Source candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, and professional networks.
  • Attend job fairs and career events to build networks and source candidates.
  • Review resumes and applications, conduct initial phone screenings, and identify suitable candidates.
Candidate Management:
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand position needs.
  • Conduct interviews, provide feedback to candidates and hiring managers, and guide them through the hiring process.
Compliance:
  • Stay up-to-date on labor laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure Talent practices and policies remain compliant.
Training Program Development and Delivery:
  • Develop standardized department training programs and materials, including manuals, e-learning modules, and workshops.
  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees at various levels.
  • Utilize a variety of training methods, including in-person, virtual, and blended learning approaches.
Needs Assessment and Improvements:
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify skills or knowledge gaps.
  • Determine training priorities and objectives and align training initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness and impact of training programs.
Administrative Responsibilities and Support:
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including scheduling, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and outcomes.
Requirements
  • 4 years of HR, administrative, or related experience.
  • Sourcing and in-person and virtual interview experience are a must.
  • Proven experience as a Training Specialist or similar role.
  • Proficiency in using training software and e-learning platforms.
  • Ability to report to our San Francisco headquarters and Alameda office for monthly in-person new hire orientations.
  • Comfortable presenting in front of a group of 20 or less new hires.
  • Personable in-person, via emails, and virtual meetings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Proven ability to stay organized, handle multiple tasks, and competing priorities, provide excellent follow-through, and meet deadlines.
  • Consistent, versatile, adaptable, and an enthusiastic willingness to work with changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proactive.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms; ADP (WFN) systems is a plus.
