We are seeking a highly skilled Addiction Counselor to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals. As a key member of our Behavioral Health/SUD Treatment Programs, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive care to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct initial screenings and assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Facilitate individual, group, and family counseling sessions to promote recovery and self-sufficiency.
- Develop and implement culturally relevant and medically monitored treatment programs, case management, and care coordination services.
- Collaborate with patients and clinical treatment teams to establish short and long-term treatment goals, objectives, and interventions.
- Provide crisis intervention and support, and respond to crisis situations with good clinical judgment.
- Participate in relevant staff meetings, case conferences, and trainings to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
- Valid CASAC - Level 1 Certificate issued by OASAS.
- One year of full-time, progressively responsible experience performing SUD assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, case and care management, and other functions related to SUD prevention and treatment in a SUD treatment program.
- Satisfactory equivalent of education, training, and experience.
