Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sleep Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the University of Maryland Faculty Physicians. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and collaborating with physicians to diagnose and treat patients with sleep disorders in an ambulatory setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive history and physical assessments for patients admitted to our service/practice setting.
  • Work closely with physicians to achieve service-specific outcome targets for key metrics, including clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities aimed at improving clinical outcomes and minimizing variation.
  • Develop and implement clinical pathways in collaboration with physician leadership and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Lead quality assurance activities, including chart reviews and peer review, to establish standards of practice.
Requirements
  • Master of Science degree in Nursing with completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Registered and currently recorded with the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nurses and Certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland.
  • DEA and CDS eligible.
  • CPR required.
  • ACLS/BCLS as required.
  • A minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • Demonstrates ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, publishing, and/or certification in area of specialty.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintains updated mandatory training.
  • Updates immunizations as recommended per practice area.
