Job Summary

The Medical Care Transport Specialist will be responsible for safely transporting patients within our medical complex, while ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients throughout the medical complex in a safe and timely manner, utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, lung sounds, VAD parameters, pulse oximetry, and ECG tracings via monitor, as requested by clinical personnel.
  • Assess patients' overall condition and immediately notify nurses if any adverse conditions are detected or observed.
  • Initiate Rapid Response and Code Calls for patients in declining status, as necessary.
  • Respond to assigned clinical emergencies and participate in hospital emergency preparedness plans.
  • Assist with patient movement, transferring patients from bed to wheelchair or stretcher, and perform minor patient care duties during transport.
  • Transport deceased patients to the hospital morgue.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification is required, with Pennsylvania or National certification.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required, with 1+ year of EMS or patient transport experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
