As a key member of our Public Works department, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of our construction crew.

Responsibilities:

* Plan and coordinate daily maintenance activities on the construction crew
* Inspect equipment for proper operating conditions and maintenance needs
* Provide technical and logistical solutions and/or advice to the Director of Public Works
* Assist in the development and training for staff safety programs
* Supervise the operation of the construction crew
* Make work assignments and check on progress/completion
* Instruct personnel in work methods
* Handle complaints from the public
* Establish work priorities and see that assignments are carried out accordingly

Requirements:

* High school graduate or GED equivalent and experience in construction, maintenance, or other operations applicable to work assignments, including some supervisory or lead-worker experience
* Considerable knowledge of the types of equipment and materials required to perform related work
* Considerable knowledge of modern principles and practices of public works administration
* Considerable knowledge of highway/street infrastructure maintenance
* Ability to plan and supervise activities in a coordinated manner
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates
* Willingness to perform tasks for extended periods under varying climate conditions
