Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement exercise therapy and education programs for cardiac rehabilitation patients, adhering to established guidelines and protocols.
  • Lead group exercise classes, providing guidance and support to patients as they progress through their rehabilitation journey.
  • Collaborate with the cardiac rehab team to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Assess and document patient activity level, vital signs, symptoms, and psychosocial concerns, using clinical judgment to inform treatment decisions.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized exercise plans, taking into account patient goals and medical history.
  • Monitor patient progress, making adjustments to exercise plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients on behavior modification techniques to reduce heart disease risk factors.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, attending professional development programs to enhance growth and development.
  • Develop and maintain cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs for group or individual exercise sessions.
  • Operate exercise equipment safely and convey instructions on exercise performance, ensuring a safe and effective exercise environment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of exercise equipment and environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy/physiology and EKG recognition/interpretation, applying this knowledge to inform treatment decisions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology or related field.
  • American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Physiologist certification.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • 1 year of experience in cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation, with a focus on exercise physiology and patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Silver Sneakers experience, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful exercise programs.
  • Clinical Exercise Physiologist experience, with a focus on cardiac rehabilitation and patient-centered care.
