Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Mammography and Radiography Technologist 1
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Mammography and Radiography Technologist 1 to be part of the Medical Imaging Mammography Screening team. This role involves working with advanced imaging technology and providing essential services to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine screening mammography, diagnostic radiography/fluoroscopy, and various medical imaging techniques while adhering to safe radiation protection protocols.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • processing and fulfilling requisitions,
  • inputting pertinent information into the Radiology Information System (RIS),
  • preparing examination equipment and patients for procedures,
  • operating sophisticated imaging devices, including data processing and storage,
  • monitoring patients during procedures and ensuring the upkeep of examination areas.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Certification from the CAMRT.
  • Successful completion of CAMRT Mammography 1 or an equivalent program.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of recent, relevant experience in Mammography and general radiographic procedures.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Thorough understanding of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging professionals as set by the CAMRT and other relevant national associations.
  • Proficient in safe operational procedures with diagnostic imaging equipment.
  • Ability to perform radiographic and screening mammography examinations in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices related to the designated imaging modality.
  • Familiarity with organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care, including safe operational practices with imaging equipment.
  • Understanding of research methodologies and processes.
  • Experience with PACS/Radiology Information Systems, digital imaging, and data archiving and retrieval.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact positively with patients, families, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively in collaboration with others.
  • Competence in CPR techniques.
  • Proficient in using current computer applications, including computerized client care information systems.
  • Physical capability to fulfill the duties of the position.

Additional Information:

The work schedule, including days off and work location, may vary based on operational needs and collective agreement provisions. Successful candidates may need to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
