Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced First Assist RN to join our team of traveling healthcare professionals. As a First Assist RN, you will play a critical role in assisting surgeons during general and specialized surgeries, preparing patients for surgery, and providing patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons in general and specialized surgeries
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning and preparing the patient on the operating table
  • Provide patient care and support, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs
  • Practice surgical procedures, such as controlling bleeding and suturing incisions, draping, providing exposure, and handling tissue
  • Prepare all necessary supplies and equipment for surgery
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and heart rate during surgery
  • Educate patients and families on operation and aftercare
  • Perform post-operative assessments and monitoring
  • Perform CPR or emergency measures if required
Requirements
  • BSN from an accredited nursing program and proper licensure
  • AHA Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers
  • At least 2 years of experience in operating room settings
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families
  • Certification as a First Assist RN and certification in perioperative nursing
