We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Room Assistant to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As an Emergency Room Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities:- Patient Care: Assist patients with basic care needs, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, as needed.
- Medical Support: Assist medical staff with various tasks, including preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, and transporting patients to and from exams.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient information, including medical history, medications, and test results.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of six months (1,040 hours) experience in a hospital acute care setting, emergency department, or as an EMT or Paramedic.
- Certifications: Paramedic Certificate (California) or Emergency Medical Technician Certificate (California) required.
- Skills: Basic Life Support certification, good verbal and written communication skills, and knowledge of PC or mainframe computer systems.
- Competency: Competency in performing 12-lead EKGs.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of sterile technique.
- Language: Bilingual preferred.
