- Review shipping documentation to confirm the details of the cargo being transported.
- Adhere to all federal regulations while driving to designated locations.
- Utilize advanced driving skills to navigate through challenging traffic conditions and adverse weather.
- Ensure all necessary shipping documents are present and accessible for inspection during transit.
- Communicate any potential delays caused by mechanical issues, weather, or traffic to relevant parties.
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations, including logs of driving hours, fuel purchases, and mileage.
- Follow company policies and procedures to ensure the safe operation of commercial vehicles.
- Report any incidents or accidents involving the vehicle or company property.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record.
- A minimum of three years of experience operating tractor-trailers is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle safety protocols and operational control.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Capability to interpret maps, road signs, and maintain accurate records.
- Familiarity with Department of Transportation regulations is essential.
