Coding Specialist - Reimbursement and Data Collection

We are seeking a skilled Coding Specialist to join our team. As a Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for assigning accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS and/or CPT-4 codes to ensure proper reimbursement and data collection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS and/or CPT-4 codes based on official inpatient and outpatient coding guidelines
  • Abstract diagnosis and procedure codes, as well as other required data elements
  • Attend educational sessions to stay up-to-date on coding guidelines and best practices

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in inpatient and/or outpatient hospital coding
  • Coding certification through AHIMA or AAPC within 12 months of hire

Physical Demands:

This is a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and programs.
