About the Role

The Cancer Navigator at US Urology Partners will collaborate with the Urology and Radiation Oncology Healthcare Team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans for individuals with Bladder and Kidney Cancer. This role will involve working closely with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination and optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement cancer care protocols and pathways in collaboration with the Medical Director and Urology care team.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on cancer treatment options, side effects, and symptom management.
  • Coordinate referrals to community resources and support groups to meet patients' individual, cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • Assist with quality reporting, patient satisfaction, and treatment adherence metrics.
  • Collaborate with providers and staff to build communication, trust, and a shared commitment to serving patients across all Urology divisions and Radiation Oncology.
  • Identify barriers to care and intervene as appropriate after discussion with the Prostate Cancer Champion Physician.
  • Enroll patients in clinical protocols and serve as a study coordinator for clinical trials.
  • Perform vital signs, including 3 Lead and 12 Lead EKG, and routine venipuncture.
  • Obtain, maintain, and discontinue peripheral IV access, and infuse FDA-approved medications and clinical protocol drugs.
  • Access central lines and perform central line dressing changes using sterile technique.
  • Follow ACLS guidelines and manage infusion reactions under the care of a MD/NP.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited RN Program.
  • Current RN Licensure required.
  • Three (3) years of clinical-setting experience - Urology preferred.
