Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Food Service Cook/Aide to join our team at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to our patients and residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals in accordance with department policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that food is prepared and served at the proper temperatures and times.
  • Work efficiently and economically to meet the nutritional needs of our patients and residents.
  • Prepare food for public service areas, including the cafeteria, medical staff, and catering.
  • Act as a supervisor in the absence of the food service supervisor and manager.
  • Review menus, recipes, and production sheets to determine food to prepare.
  • Plan cooking schedules to ensure that food is ready at specified times.
  • Prepares food in correct quantities using proper food preparation and techniques to conserve nutritive value and quality of foods.
  • Ensure food is served in a safe and timely manner.
  • Use food thermometers to determine that foods are at the proper temperature for meal service.
  • Serve food according to spreadsheets, patient/resident requests, and menus.
  • Provide support, documentation, and communication to ensure smooth operations in the Department.
  • Maintain work areas to meet sanitation and safety standards.
  • Maintain proper dress code and good personal hygiene.
Requirements
  • 1 year of institutional food service experience as a cook preferred.
  • Current MN certified food protection manager (CFPM) preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
