Job Title: Housekeeper

At Trustwell Living of Raytown, we are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our residential facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to and convey the philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents.
  • Monitor inventory of chemicals, supplies, and equipment needed for laundry and housekeeping tasks.
  • Communicate chemical, supply, and equipment needs to the Executive Director/Designee.
  • Maintain required records and use the Maintenance Request Log appropriately.
  • Familiarize yourself with cleaning schedules of residents' apartments and common areas to ensure completion of housekeeping tasks.
  • Perform housekeeping, janitorial tasks, and minor repairs as assigned.
  • Assure that other janitorial and repair requests are properly logged and monitored for completion.
  • Provide laundry services as needed and/or directed.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and follow infection control procedures.
  • Observe problems, concerns, and issues observed with resident units, the community, and the grounds and communicate them appropriately.
  • Observe changes in resident status, needs, or preferences and communicate them appropriately.
  • Observe other problems and communicate them appropriately.
  • Observe all work, safety, and administrative rules.
  • Adhere to all established policies and procedures.
  • Record resident information as required.
  • Avoid loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work, safety, and other emergencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Employment Requirements:
  • Willingness to adhere to assisted living principles in providing services.
  • Ability/willingness to perform all position responsibilities adequately.
  • Keep all information confidential.
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance record/follow the work schedule.
  • Organize and utilize time appropriately toward accomplishing assigned tasks and require minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and/or overtime.
  • Display cleanliness, good grooming, personal appearance, and follow dress requirements consistently.
  • Display mature behavior and attitude in speech and action.
  • Display ability/willingness to learn new skills and to teach others.
  • Interact in a professional manner with residents, the public, and co-workers.
  • Work cooperatively with management.
  • Display willingness to assist co-workers when the situation requires.
  • Ability to do occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), 30 lbs. regularly.
  • Adequate and clear English speaking and writing ability; able to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to spend long periods on feet and to ambulate quickly.
  • Free of non-treated communicable disease.
  • CPR/First Aid Certified.
  • Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.
  • Ability/willingness to follow all policies and procedures.
  • Neat, accurate, dependable, and keeps work/space clean.
  • Ability/willingness to work longer than eight (8) hour shift; to work holidays or overtime and to work a seven (7) day schedule.
Training and Experience:

Working knowledge of equipment, supplies, and chemicals used for housekeeping and laundry tasks in public use buildings. Experience in working in a licensed care setting preferred. CPR/First Aid Certified.

Twelve (12) plus years of education preferred. Attendance at in-service training. Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification. Meet in-service training hours required for job classification and position.
