Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Development Engineer II to join our Profile Tuning Suite (PTS) team at the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of the next generation of software tools that enable our members to develop, test, and qualify their Bluetooth products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of software tools for the PTS team
  • Enable continuous learning and improvement in the design, development, and maintenance of Bluetooth SIG software products
  • Exercise strong theoretical and practical understanding of traditional and emergent technologies, methodologies, and paradigms to enable market differentiation and positive long-term impact
  • Enable the application of Test-Driven Development methodologies to support Continuous Integration and frequent delivery of customer value through working software
  • Diagnose complex issues and implement solutions
  • Evaluate existing software development methods and work to enhance them to improve quality and performance
  • Advocate and practice software development best practices
  • Provide mentoring to team members and consultations to senior individuals and management
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to drive clarity and deliver tools
Requirements
  • 9+ years of software development experience using C/C++
  • Ability to execute as a leader and provide innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to determine the appropriateness of further effort in an area under study
  • Proven track record in delivering customer-focused, high-quality content on time
  • Strong theoretical and practical understanding of Computer Science and engineering principles, with expert knowledge of structured software design
  • Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and processes quickly and independently
  • Passion for technology with strong customer empathy
  • Ability to make decisions that impact critical goals of the Bluetooth SIG
  • Ability to mentor a technical team and teach technical concepts
  • Highly skilled in scheduling, product planning, and analyzing feasibility of new products
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively in an international business environment
  • Accountable team player that collaborates effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in developing and working with protocol stacks
  • Strong background in embedded systems programming
  • Knowledge of Bluetooth core, protocol, or profile technology
  • Experience in Agile development

  • Experience in Test-Driven Development
