About the Role

BGE, Inc. is a leading civil engineering consulting firm seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our Land/Site team in Frisco and downtown Dallas offices. As a CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in preparing engineering and construction drawings, interpreting sketches and markups, and applying revisions to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize FNI CAD Standards and follow instructions from PM, Designers, and Lead CAD Staff.
  • Prepare routine to moderately-difficult engineering and construction drawings.
  • Interpret sketches and markups to incorporate into sheets.
  • Apply revisions from markups and backcheck work.
  • Place and manage files according to BIM/CAD Standards and prepare final drawings.
  • Utilize surveyor data.
  • Prepare accurate and complete layouts, cross-sections, and production documents with direct input from the Designer or Engineer.
  • Coach CAD Staff.
Qualifications
  • 2 years experience performing BIM/CAD functions in a 3D environment.
  • Aptitude for mathematics, reading drawings and maps, 3D visualization, and a moderate degree of computer and BIM/CAD software competency.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in BIM/CAD drafting and design preferred.
