Job Summary

Festival Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Night Lead to join our Fresh Cut Department team. As a Night Lead, you will be responsible for leading the team in the absence of the Department Manager and ensuring that all department standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Fresh Cut Department team in the absence of the Department Manager
  • Reinforce Festival culture, customer service, and performance expectations to all Fresh Cut associates
  • Assist in training new Fresh Cut associates and re-train as necessary
  • Answer questions and provide guidance to all Fresh Cut department associates
  • Ensure all department standards are being met in the Fresh Cut department
  • Observe sales floor and back stock conditions and take action to correct areas of opportunity
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure accurate pricing on products sold
  • Provide customer service to guests
  • Assist guests with finding items they are looking for
  • Take orders and other special requests
  • Answer the telephone and assist callers using proper phone etiquette
  • Address guest concerns and resolve issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received
  • Assist all department associates with daily responsibilities while leading by example
  • Contribute to overall cleanliness of the department by picking up, organizing, and cleaning work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed
  • Maintain food safety logs
  • Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
Requirements
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel
  • Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment
  • Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
  • Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
  • Knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and must be able to make timely and effective decisions
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures
