Job Summary

As a Quality Assurance Senior Staff Engineer at Panasonic Avionics Corporation, you will be responsible for overseeing programs from First Article Inspections (FAI) at Suppliers to final Customer FAI. This includes tracking rejections to ensure program completion and interfacing with Quality Control activities. You will also be responsible for documenting and following up on customer FAI reports, reviewing programs to ensure future programs are improving from previous 'lessons learned,' and reviewing and improving QA Work Instructions (WIs) and Quality Operation Procedures (QOPs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage programs, including program introductions, to ensure completeness of required Quality activities.
  • Support First Article Inspections (FAI) at suppliers and internal customer FAI when required.
  • Improve and/or implement quality operation procedures, work instructions, and quality planning.
  • Evaluate and investigate nonconforming products for cause and corrective action.
  • Develop quality planning and apply new methods of inspection for continuous improvement.
  • Interpret customer specifications, engineering drawings, engineering process specifications, and test data.
  • Perform liaison activity and provide technical support to the quality control team.
  • Perform root cause analyses to support the application of closed-loop corrective action.
  • Review purchase orders for applicable requirements per Supplier Quality Assurance Requirements.
  • Review manufacturing planning sheets for adequate sequences and inspection points.
  • Support and perform Change Review Board (CRB) activities to review drawings prior to release.
  • Support the Material Review Board (MRB) to review and investigate non-conforming products.
  • Generate reports to analyze data and develop corrective actions plans when required.
  • Support supplier management (perform inspection, review quality system, supplier surveillance, and continuous improvement techniques) and assist with other QA functions when necessary.
Requirements
  • BS, BSEE, or related engineering degree. Equivalent experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Graduate coursework is desirable.
  • Requires a minimum of 12+ years of related experience.
  • Having a wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other technical positions.
