Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with general ledger account reconciliations, including balance sheet accounts like Fixed Assets.
  • Participate in month-end closing procedures, including journal entries and computations.
  • Maintain accounting databases, including data entry.
  • Reconcile bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Special projects as assigned by the Controller.
  • Develop and maintain a professional rapport with team members.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and oral, with project team and management.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university preferred; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated accounting system.
  • Proficient in the use of spreadsheets, database, and word-processing software.
  • Ability to compile, review, and reconcile data for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving/judgment skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in full accounting cycles is a plus.
