Magnolia River is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team The Staff Accountant will report to the Controller and is responsible for performing various accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers; perform general bookkeeping; and other month end closing procedures.
**Compensation is based on experience.**
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
- Assists with G/L account reconciliations monthly (ie Balance Sheet accounts like Fixed Assets).
- Assists with month end closing procedures including journal entries and computation of
- Maintains accounting databases, including data entry.
- Reconciles bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Special projects as assigned by the
- Develop and maintain a professional rapport with team
- Communicate effectively, both written and oral, with project team and management
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company
- Perform other duties as
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university preferred; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated accounting
- Proficient in the use of spreadsheets, database and word-processing
- Ability to compile, review, and reconcile data for accuracy, completeness, and
- Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal
