Job Summary
The Echo Technologist performs cardiac sonography examinations in a trauma hospital setting, requiring call rotation. This role involves assessing technical data reflective of patient status and assisting in the interpretation of same. The ideal candidate will deliver quality, cost-effective patient care in a professional manner, maintaining an environment of excellence that is patient-focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cardiac sonography examinations, producing high-quality images following established protocols and procedures.
- Educate patients and families regarding the procedure and treatment to be performed, positioning the patient and completing the examination.
- Demonstrate commitment to safety and quality, preventing or reducing harms through knowledge and application of departmental policies and procedures.
- Understand and adhere to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards, following RHS policies and procedures, and reporting variances.
- Provide effective and efficient assessment, actions, and documentation.
Requirements
- Program Graduate, Accredited Sonography Program (Preferred)
- Associates Degree, Accredited Sonography Program (Preferred)
- Bachelors Degree, Accredited Sonography Program (Preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year Imaging experience
Licenses and Certifications
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC)
- RDCS-AE Adult Echocardiography Upon Hire
- CCI-RCS Registered Cardiac Sonographer Upon Hire
- RDCS-PE Pediatric Echocardiography Upon Hire
