The Quality Assurance Manager position is crucial for establishing and upholding product excellence throughout the supply chain, ensuring robust quality systems are in place. This role advocates for quality adherence and fosters ongoing enhancements across the organization. Responsibilities include overseeing quality assurance initiatives, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and regulations, and employing various tools such as audits, process assessments, and trend analysis to meet organizational goals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Champion a "Culture of Zero" for quality within the facility, including leading the Material Review Board and facilitating Quality Training sessions.
  • Develop and sustain an ISO 9001-compliant Quality Management System at the facility level, ensuring all standards are met.
  • Utilize tools like PFMEA and DOE to identify Key Process Characteristics.
  • Enhance process capabilities (Cpk) through collaboration with equipment manufacturers and process engineering teams.
  • Maintain process capabilities using tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Pre-Control, while also creating inspection plans as necessary.
  • Drive improvements in process control by implementing technologies such as visual inspection systems and mistake-proofing techniques.
  • Work alongside plant operations to boost process efficiency and product quality, guiding staff in root cause analysis methodologies like fishbone diagrams and fault tree analysis.
  • Provide key process metrics and prepare monthly review presentations.
  • Ensure proper calibration of measurement and testing equipment.
  • Address Supplier Claims promptly and assess customer claims related to plant operations.
  • Collaborate with Sales and customers to resolve external rejections and technical challenges.
  • Lead Material Review Board meetings to implement corrective actions and manage nonconforming materials.
  • Assist in the preparation of certifications, letters of conformance, or PPAP documentation to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Oversee and mentor the QA team, including the QA Supervisor, Technician, and Engineer.
  • Engage in special projects and support the implementation of company-wide systems such as SAP Quality Management.
  • Build collaborative relationships across the organization to ensure sustained success and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with over 5 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing context, or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Process Capabilities and control tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), FMEA, and CpK; familiarity with DOE, Camera Inspection, and Poka-Yoke is advantageous.
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 management systems, continuous improvement methodologies, and standard quality/operational excellence tools.
  • Proficient in problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with a professional demeanor and presentation style.
  • Highly driven self-starter with strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Six Sigma certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ICEA, AEIC, UL, and ASTM testing standards is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and SAP QM is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
