About the Role

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supervising the design and construction of diverse projects, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget constraints, and achievement of the highest quality standards. This position requires a talent for creative problem-solving, an attentive client-oriented approach, and the ability to lead and supervise multi-discipline project teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the design and construction of a diverse range of projects.
  • Ensure timely project completion, adherence to budget constraints, and attainment of the highest quality standards.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the engineering team, collaborate with other disciplines, and engage with contractors throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Contribute to the generation and management of project schedules, budgets, and resource priorities.
  • Address and resolve technical challenges during both the design process and construction phase.
  • Prepare comprehensive structural specifications, select construction procedures, determine materials and member sizes, and perform all necessary calculations for effective design.
  • Foster continuous development and coaching of project staff.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a Structural emphasis, and a Master's degree preferred.
  • A Structural Engineering license, S.E., preferred (required for Folsom location).
  • A minimum of 10 years of full-time progressive experience in structural engineering.
  • Three or more years of experience in leading multi-discipline project teams.
  • Prior experience working with the California Division of the State Architects (DSA) preferred (for California positions).
  • Prior experience in K-12 education required (for Texas positions).
  • A strong understanding of pertinent design codes, including ASCE, AISC, ACI, MSJC, NDS, etc.
  • Proficiency in widely-used structural engineering and office tools, such as ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.
  • Expertise in designing various structural materials, such as steel, concrete, masonry, wood, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
